The legal basis of data protection is set out in the Bundesdatenschutzgesetz BDSG (Federal Data Protection Act) and in the Telemediengesetz TMG (German Telemedia Act).
Access data / server log files
The service provider (or its web space provider) collects data about every access to the offer (referred to as server log files).
Access data includes: Name of the accessed website, file, date and time of the access, volume of data transmitted, report on successful access, browser type and version, operating system of the user, referrer URL (the website visited before), IP address and the querying provider.
The service provider uses the log data only for statistical analyses for the purpose of operating, securing and optimizing the offer. However, the service provider reserves the right to check the log data subsequently if specific indications give rise to the legitimate suspicion of unlawful use.
Handling of personal data
Personal data is information on the basis of which a person can be identified, that is, information that can be traced back to a person. This includes the name, email address or telephone number. However, data on personal preferences, hobbies, memberships or the websites a person views is also personal data.
Personal data is collected, used and shared by the service provider only as far as this is legally permitted or where users consent to the collection of data.
When contacting the service provider (for example, by means of a contact form or email), the information given by the user is stored for the purpose of processing the inquiry as well as for follow-up questions that may become necessary.
Comments and posts
Whenever users post comments or other contributions, their IP addresses are saved. This is necessary to protect the service provider if someone posts unlawful contents (insults, prohibited political propaganda, etc.). In this case the service provider can be held liable for the comment or contribution and is therefore interested in the identity of the author.
Up-to-date product information
We use up-to-date product information to inform you about our current software extensions and updates.
If you would like to receive the product information, we need a valid email address as well as information permitting us to verify that you own the email address given and/or that the corresponding owner consents to receiving the up-to-date product information. No further data will be collected. This data will only be used for mailing product information and will not be forwarded to third parties.
When registering for a free test on www.welcomeyou.net you will receive an email with access data to the portal. With your registration we will save your IP address as well as the date of registration. This information is exclusively stored to serve as evidence if a third party abuses an email address and registers to receive the up-to-date product information without the address owner's knowledge.
You can revoke your consent to saving your data and email address as well as to their use for sending the product information at any time. Revocation can be performed via a link in the mailed product information. Up-to-date product information will no longer be sent to you after your revocation.
Integration of third-party services and content
Within this online offer it may occur that third-party content is integrated, for example videos from YouTube, map material from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites. In these cases the providers of such contents (hereinafter referred to as "third-party providers") always detect the IP address of the user as they cannot send contents to the browser of the querying user without his or her IP address. The IP address is therefore necessary for the presentation of this content.
We endeavor to only use contents of providers who use the IP address exclusively for the purpose of delivering the queried contents. However, we have no influence on third-party providers saving the IP address, e.g. for statistical purposes. If we should become aware of such a situation, we will inform the users accordingly.
